L'IA non è un'alternativa all'ESG: è la G di ESG

AI is not an alternative to ESG: it is the G in ESG

Integrare vuol dire continuare a misurare.

Ralph Lauren drops sustainability from bonuses, Hyundai takes it into its supply chain. Embedding means you keep measuring.

O forse no.

Two giants in high-impact sectors, two opposite paths on sustainability. Or maybe not.

Ralph Lauren has removed its sustainability goal from executive bonuses and added AI metrics instead, because sustainability is “now part of everyday operations”.

Hyundai, meanwhile, is financing rooftop solar at hundreds of supplier sites: 100 MW in two years, around 55,000 tonnes of CO₂ avoided every year.

But AI is not an alternative to ESG. How a company adopts it (data, risk, accountability, energy use) is a governance issue in every sense: the G in ESG.

And embedding sustainability means measuring it inside decisions, starting with the supply chain. In fashion and automotive, that is where most emissions sit.

This is the focus of the white paper “Sustainability in Fashion Value Chains” by Tecno Group, authored by Salvatore Amitrano with Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and Istituto Marangoni.
